For me, the first seven months of 2023 was a bit of a whirlwind. Taking time off to spend at the beach with family, flying across the US to spend a week with a friend exploring a bit of the Oregon coast, celebrating the life of a dear friend with creatives I've not seen in a long time or met before, dancing the night away at concerts, and, of course, spending more time focusing on the future, myself, and designing jewelry.
Taking the chance to play over the summer after an overwhelming spring of work travel, in-person events, and building new relationships with retail partners was filled with so much gratitude. I also took time off every week to enhance my technical skills in jewelry fabrication and stone setting.
Moving into August, I put on my thinking cap, enjoyed the creative process, and considered where I wanted to take my business. I have so many ideas, and it's difficult to squeeze them all in at once. Allowing myself to explore and experiment with the new techniques I've learned along the way requires a lot of patience and planning.
My new series, the Collector's Edition, will be a compilation of special, limited edition, and one-of-a-kind pieces that will be available online for a limited time period of time. The aim is to establish a line of small collection drops, with initial access to these pieces going to my CLJ Collector's Club first. I want you to have the opportunity to experience fresh off the bench styles from me on a regular basis.
The first of this series comes the Asteria Collection, highlights a trio earring styles showcasing a combination of soft geometric forms, conspicuous charm drops and natural gemstones. The gems are from various regions in the US/Canada, Brazil and Chile. The gemstone beads' soothing color pallet includes a variety of blues, greens, pinks, and crystals.
