I cannot tell you how much I love this new collection of hoops! I've been exploring the idea of adding gemstones to my threader earrings for many, many years now, but I just needed to branch out into the world gemstones a little more to see what stones I would truly love. Gemstones have such a personal connection with human beings on so many levels... Blending science, symbolism, psychology and cultural traditions; that it was hard to choose. That was the problem I was having, which is why it took me so long to finally breathe light into this new series of threader hoops.
I wanted to pair the round smooth beads with the linear, sharp angles in each hoops design. The contrast sets the stage for the 14K gold beads as an anchor to the beads, adding even more texture and style to each pair.
Some asked, why not make them with sterling silver and why I am a lover of sterling silver, they silver didn't add substance in a way that I had hoped it would. I explored the mixed metal concept, but the charcoal silver didn't sit well with the lusciousness of the soft color palette I was going for.
What I love about these the most, is the added weight carried throughout each design without ever feeling heavy. Finding the right balance wasn't easy, but I think with each design and color stone, it works.
Every angle, shape and length is meticulously formed by hand, so they maintain their structure... Made for daily wear. Each gold bead and gemstone shifts with each small motion, moving with the hand, as it rotates in place, while you explore beauty, and never losing its place.
